Assignment Overview
In this course, you will create a Personal Academic Success Strategy Portfolio (PASSport). The portfolio will be compiled in stages throughout the course so that upon completion you have a comprehensive and personalized strategy for success. For PASSport Essay #1, you will reflect on the academic, vocational/professional, and faith implications of the question: Who am I?
Assignment Instructions
Write a reflection paper addressing the question “Who am I?” The paper should incorporate insights from course readings and be organized as follows:
- Introduction (State the overall purpose of the reflection paper and mention the main ideas that will be addressed.)
- Academics (Who am I as a learner? How have my previous school/college experiences shaped my present circumstance? How do my strengths impact my academic path to success?)
- Career and Vocation (Who am I in my career? How have my previous professional experiences shaped my present circumstance? How do my strengths shape my contributions to my vocation?)
- Integration of Faith, Living, and Learning (Who am I as a person of faith? How have my previous faith or non-faith experiences shaped my living and learning? How do my strengths relate to who I am as a person of faith?)
- Conclusion (Summarize the main points from the reflection and draw a memorable conclusion.)
Assignment Requirements
- Include a Title Page with essay
- Submissions should be written in Times New Roman 12 point font and should be grammatically coherent, with minimal spelling, punctuation, and capitalization errors.
- Organize the paper into at least five paragraphs (introduction, academics, career and vocation, faith integration, and conclusion).
- Maintain a length of around 500-750 words.
- Include at least three in-text citations from your textbooks or other scholarly sources. Citations must be formatted in APA style.
- Example: Rath (2007) explained that Achievers “have an internal fire burning inside” (p. 37). OR: Those with the Achiever theme “have an internal fire burning inside” (Rath, 2007, p. 37). OR: Tom Rath (2007) described how those with the Achiever theme are motivated by an internal drive - a fire that burns inside. Notice that signal phrases refer only to the author’s last name and are in the past tense.
