Search Engine

A tool or device used to find relevant information. Search engines consist of a spider, index, relevancy algorithms and search results.

SEO

SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” It’s the practice of increasing both the quality and quantity of website traffic, as well as exposure to your brand, through non-paid (also known as "organic") search engine results.

SERP

Stands for “search engine results page” — the page you see after conducting a search.

Short-tail

Keywords are much more general search queries consisting of one or two words.

Spider (Web Crawler)

Search engine crawlers which search or "spider" the web for pages to include in the index.
