Meet with a tutor now

If you’re ready to meet with a tutor now, follow the steps below.

• If you’re ready to meet with a tutor, follow the steps below. 
• Access the University’s tutor.com account page and log in using your course.lapu.edu credentials.
• The “Connect with a tutor now” box should already be selected. If it is not selected, click on it.
• Set your topic to Writing.
• Set your Subject to Live Writing Help
• To help with your appointment, upload a copy of the assignment directions, the rubric, as well as your draft, so the tutor can review them. The directions and rubric will help the tutor know assignment expectations and how to best help you.
• Click Connect Now.
• After your tutor session, complete the Post-Session Survey, then download your tutor session transcripts.

Schedule a Tutoring Appointment

If you’d like to schedule an appointment with a tutor, follow the steps below. 

• Access the University’s tutor.com account page and log in using your course.lapu.edu credentials.
• Click on Schedule a tutoring session. The tutor's availability is listed in Eastern Time so be aware of any time differences that may exist.
• Change the All Subjects dropdown, just above the first tutor’s picture to Live Writing Help.
• You may also change the Next Available dropdown to Highest rated to select the highest-rated tutor.
• Choose a tutor by clicking on schedule to the right of their name. Based on appointment availability, you may need to attend the appointment a week or two before the Tutor.com Appointment and Reflection Part 2: Reflection assignment is due.
• After selecting a tutor choose a date and time for your appointment.
• Choose whether you would like a 30 or a 60-minute session
• Set your topic to Writing.
• Set your Subject to Live Writing Help
• To help with your appointment, upload a copy of the assignment directions, the rubric, as well as your draft, so the tutor can review them. The directions and rubric will help the tutor know assignment expectations and how to best help you.
• After your tutor session, complete the Post-Session Survey, then download your tutor session transcripts.
