Dear Students;

University College (UC) is committed to providing cutting-edge, flexible, and innovative programs for our students. For this reason, we’ve made some changes to our General Studies Core requirements (formerly “Liberal Arts Core”) and we’d like to update you on these exciting changes:

The new 2014 General Studies Core consists of 28 units (a change from the previous requirement of 51 units). We believe this revision provides a strong liberal arts foundation while also allowing students to make the most of courses you may have taken at previous institutions.

In conjunction with updating the General Studies Core requirements, we are also revising the number of units in the academic program requisites. Those students who enrolled after January 2014 but before July 2014 will continue to fulfill the 51-unit Liberal Arts Core in conjunction with their academic program and the requisites of their academic program.

Students considering a change to the new 28-unit General Studies Core and revised program requisites should review the updated requirements, contact their advisor, and complete the academic change of major form (login to @uc.apu.edu account required).

Thanks for your attention, and finish the session well!
