URGENT - Intent to Graduate Deadline Reminder

Please remember: the deadline to apply to participate in the December 2017 graduation ceremony is this Friday, September 29th. If you plan to be part of the commencement ceremony, please complete the Intent to Graduate - Commencement form by Friday, September 29th. The form can be found in the Learner Portal (learner.uc.apu.edu) under the Learner tab.

You may submit the form if you are enrolled in any of the following degree levels and have completed the majority of your coursework:

  • Associate of Arts
  • Associate of Science
  • Bachelor of Arts
  • Bachelor of Science
  • Master of Arts

Again, forms are due by September 29, 2017. An $80.00 nonrefundable payment is required at time of submission. If you do not wish to walk in the ceremony, please complete the Intent to Graduate – Nonparticipant form. A $35.00 nonrefundable payment is required at time of submission. Note, your degree will not be conferred until an Intent to Graduate form is filed.

The approval process to be eligible to walk in the ceremony is based on one of the following.

  1. Degree completed prior to commencement.
  2. Degree completion based on current enrollment in Fall 2017.  In-progress units are excluded from clearance calculation as UC’s Fall session 2 is still in progress at the time of commencement clearance and the assumption is that the classes will be passed.  However failed courses in Fall session 1 can jeopardize clearance.
  3. Undergraduate students may participate in commencement exercises if they are within 12 units of degree completion in the Spring 2018 semester, not including in-progress units. Graduate students may participate in commencement exercises if they are within 6 units of degree completion in the Spring 2018 semester, not including in-progress units.

University College policy allows students to walk with classes remaining to complete their degree. A student must be able to finish their degree during the Spring 2018 semester to be eligible to participate in the December 2017 ceremony.

Making changes to your schedule can place you at risk of not participating in December. Contact your Success Coach before making any changes to your schedule.

Students enrolled in our certificate programs are not eligible to participate in graduation and do not need to submit an Intent to Graduate Form.
