Understanding the many aspects of your degree program can be highly beneficial to you as a student. By learning more about your degree, the courses that you will take, the professors who bring their experience to the classroom, and the opportunities that you have to grow your career, you will be able to plan for your future. It is essential that you are aware of the program requirements, the courses, and the prerequisites that you must meet to remain on target to graduate.

  1. Take some time to research your program. Then, use the My Student Bio Template (opens in a new window) [Original Media] and gather the following information:
    1. Your Name
    2. Your Program Name
    3. Concentrations (if applicable)
    4. Assistant Dean for the Program
    5. Number of Courses Required
    6. Number of Credits Required
    7. Anticipated Graduation Date
    8. Success Coach Name
  2. Post your completed template in a PDF format and using the video recording tool, audio response, or writing option in the discussion post, address the following:
    1. What did you learn about your program as you conducted research?
    2. What are you most excited to experience in your program? 
    3. What role do your strengths, faith, values, or morals play in your student journey?

Post substantive responses to your colleagues. Responses could include suggestions for further resources, questions of clarification, or providing context and insight. Avoid simple posts of agreement, if you agree, explain why, and then thoughtfully further the conversation.

Review your colleagues’ posts and respond to your colleagues in a video, audio, or written response on the following: 

  • What did you learn about your colleagues’ programs?
  • Can you offer any insight or information to help your colleague be successful?
